What is the Theatre Writers Digest?

If you write for the theatre, you’ve probably missed a fellowship or a grant that you were PERFECT for. There’s no worse feeling than finding out the day after a deadline. That’s why I spend hours collecting and cataloguing opportunities for writers, with a focus on musical theatre writers and songwriters. This started out of a desire to apply for every possible opportunity, but soon I found myself discovering applications and going “Oh, I know who’s perfect for this...”

As a writer myself - an alum of the BMI Workshop, various ASCAP residencies, and a plethora of other programs - I know how many fabulously talented writers are out there. Fact is, not everyone has the time to do this kind of in-depth research every month, so I wanted to create a place to share it with my community.

Why a paid subscription?

The monthly digest is free and contains all the highlights. However, it does not cover everything I find in my monthly deep search. If the digest contains 10-15 listings, the long list probably has over 50. This comprehensive list and the subscription at large could be useful to you if:
