EST/Sloan Project – New Play Commission
Annually, Ensemble Studio Theatre partners with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to commission the development of a new piece of theatre that addresses themes of science and technology.
They are very specific about what types of science qualify - make sure to review the guidelines to see if your project fits.
$10,000 commission

Players Theatre Self-Production Residency
An opportunity to self-produce your way to a potential off-Broadway run, partially subsidized by Players Theatre via space and tech.
No stipend, but production support is provided.

American Antiquarian Society Fellowship for Creative & Performing Artists & Writers
Four-week residential research fellowship in Worcester, MA for artists and writers producing imaginative works - novels, plays/libretti, film, podcasts, design/visual art, etc. - involving pre-20th-century American history, literature, and culture.
$2,400 stipend

Banff Independent Theatre Residency
A two-week, self-directed residency providing a private studio, housing, and dedicated studio time.
$65 application fee
~$1,000/week residency fee
Deadline: October 14th
A residency in Ménerbes, France, providing private lodging and studio. Focus is on a specific project, and residency lasts 1-2 months.
$25 application fee
$1,500 stipend if accepted.

Travis Bogard Artist in Residence
A 1–3 week working retreat for playwrights, scholars, critics, and theatre artists to work in solitude at Tao House with access to the Eugene O’Neill Foundation’s research library.
